3D Immersive Virtual Tour of Your Dream College – From the Comfort of Your Home
The Virtual College Tour (in 3D, mostly) - where available
Hey there, students! As you power through your college applications for the early January deadlines, I know how hard you're working to put your best foot forward.
To help you feel a little closer to your future, I’m sharing something special—immersive virtual tours of some of the most iconic and inspiring college campuses in the US. Where 3D tours aren’t available, I’ve included the next best thing: YouTube video tours which aren’t that great in comparison, but still. Hopefully, all together, they give you a sense of the place short of actually being there.
The American college campus is its own kind of magic. It’s the whisper of the wind in the arches of Stanford’s quad, the quiet allure Princeton’s ivy-lined walkways, and the electric roar of Cameron Stadium during a Duke vs. UNC showdown. These aren’t just spaces—they’re theaters of transformation, stages for intellectual inquiry, and sanctuaries for restless minds. If it sounds hefty, it is because it really is for they’ve shaped generations of thinkers, scientists, entrepreneurs and visionaries who’ve gone on to change the world!
As you explore these tours, let the spaces inspire your essays too. “A college campus is a poem, an essay, a canvas—it’s where the ordinary transforms into the extraordinary.” These words capture the vibrancy and potential of these spaces. As you explore these tours, let them let them remind you of why you’re putting in all this hard work in the first place. Picture yourself debating in Princeton’s lecture halls, grabbing a coffee near Columbia’s Low Library, soaking up the sun on Michigan’s gorgeous Diag, strolling down Amherst’s sun-dappled paths, pausing in the shadow of the John Harvard Statue, tracing the Gothic spires of Yale or finding calm in the stillness of Wellesley’s serene Lake Waban.
Visualization is a great manifestation method - as they say, seeing yourself succeed helps you believe that it can – and will – happen!
So, take a well-deserved break, grab a snack, and let your mind wander. Click through these links and imagine yourself there—writing papers, building friendships, and wrestling with bold ideas. Let the vision of what’s ahead push you through these next few weeks.
Good luck. Breathe it in. And, as I say at The Thirsty Scholar, dream big. I have no doubt you’ll get there!
